Karate school abuse
Three members of staff at a popular karate school in Las Palmas have been sent to jail by a local judge investigating allegations of widespread sexual abuse of young pupils.

Las Palmas - 08.02.2010 - The three were among five people, two of them women, arrested late last week in connection with the allegations, which have been circulating for some time in the capital. Two late-night raids on villas in the Agüimes area were ordered after several alleged victims of the abuse came forward. Although details of the investigation are a closely guarded secret at present, it is believed the youngsters were coerced into taking part in sex acts with instructors.
