 Daily news from the Canaries and the islands' biggest English language newspaper on-line Domestic killing shocks El Médano The brutal killing of a 34-year-old woman has put Tenerife in the national domestic violence headlines once again. The victim, a Russian living in El Médano, died after being attacked yesterday lunchtime by her partner, who then tried to commit suicide by slashing his wrists. El Médano - 16.03.2010 - Neighbours reacted quickly to the woman's screams on the balcony of their home and tried to break their way into the house but by the time they reached her she was dead. One local described how the man kept hitting her despite the shouts from the street below to stop.
